Learn how to render a realistic human figure. Understand fundamental principles such as composition, scale, and value, which are the key to successful life drawing. Examine the figure in relation to space and volume. Gesture, anatomy, and expressiveness of the human form will be emphasized.
Using reclaimed objects found in various places in New York City, we will explore storytelling through shadowbox sculptures. The story you choose to tell can be personal, political or spiritual, whatever you feel comfortable sharing. Students are encouraged to bring in objects of their choosing be it photographs, letters, whatever you wish to use for your piece.
