This January the Bruce Museum is pleased to offer a series of printmaking workshops led by teaching artist Nancy McTague-Stock and inspired by the exhibition “She Sweeps with Many Colored Brooms:” Paintings and Prints of Emily Mason.
Each class will begin with a closer look at Mason’s work for inspiration, and then explore the physical process by which students will create their own work. Classes will include a quick review of the optimal set-up, materials, and tools students will be using, followed by a demonstration. By the end of each of the three classes in this series, participants will have created at least one final product and have gained skills and techniques for future endeavors. Students will receive a materials list, and all materials will be available at Jerry’s Artarama in Norwalk, CT, where students will receive a discount on class materials.
