“Break a Leg” the Opera October 21 & 22 ~Yorktown Heights~

“In bocca al lupo” is what opera singers tell each other before they go on stage to wish one another good luck–much like actors tell each other to “break a leg.” What does one do when a buffoon is running an opera company? No one knows better than Dan Montez. He founded Taconic Opera 20 years ago.

After creating five oratorios in the last five years, he has composed his first opera, a hilarious comedy taking us behind the scenes of an opera company. The Rossini-inspired story takes us through the chaos of holding auditions, running the office, coaching singers, staging, pulling off a fundraiser, taking us backstage during the show, and then figuring out what to do when the show starts to fall apart. Prepare to laugh your head off . The music is highly accessible. Don’t miss this world premiere!
